Pep Guardiola is about to hand Frank Lampard an Everton opportunity

It’s going to be a very difficult game for Everton both mentally and physically against Manchester City but it’s also a huge opportunity for our boys to show what they can do against top quality players.

You’ve got to win those individual battles. If I were there as a full-back, I’d know I’d be up against a top winger but it’s a chance to showcase your own defensive ability.

City outscore every team in the league and we know what they can do possession-wise.

They keep the ball and technically are so much better than most of their opponents.

They’ll make us run but with that I think it gives Frank an opportunity to change his system.

It’s not FIFA on your games console, they’re not robots, they do have off days as we saw against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Spurs game was fantastic, back and forth, and just shows you that if you a bit of belief and can show a bit of quality then you will get your opportunities against City.

They are going to dominate possession and carve out a lot of chances but you’ve got to ride your luck.

We’ve been here before against them. Just over five years ago, we had about four shots against them and beat them 4-0 at Goodison.
