Thomas Tuchel was brutally sacked as Chelsea manager earlier this week.

After his 100th game in the Stamford Bridge hot seat ended in a 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, Tuchel quickly learnt that Todd Boehly is cut from the same cloth as Roman Abramovich when it comes to dealing with managers.

That’s because the Blues’ second Champions League-winning coach was dumped on the same scrapheap that Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and Carlo Ancelotti have all wound up on over the years.

It’s a decision which has divided Chelsea fans with some opining that Tuchel’s reign had actually been falling apart for some time now and others ardently defending his achievements at the club.

However, it just seems as though the Tuchel cycle in west London had come to a grinding halt with the confluence of a tough start to the new season and Boehly throwing his weight around in the boardroom proving his undoing.

And while the last few weeks of his tenure were indeed dogged by poor results and reports of frayed relationships with the bigwigs, Tuchel can still hold his head up high as he walks off into the sunset.

Besides, despite not even spending so much as two years in the Blues’ technical area, Tuchel was still able to win the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup trophies.

Throw in two FA Cup final appearances as well as a penalty shootout defeat in the 2022 Carabao Cup final and you quickly see just how regularly Tuchel got the Blues within touching distance of silverware.
