Paul Scholes names one Man Utd player who would get into Liverpool’s team

Paul Scholes claims Paul Pogba in his best form would get into Liverpool’s team as the Manchester United legend fears how they will go about replacing him in the summer.

The Frenchman is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to make a decision on whether he will sign a new deal or join another European club.

Pogba has recently returned from injury and put in an impressive display against Leeds in United’s 4-2 win on Sunday to remind his critics of what Scholes’ former club could miss out on if he leaves on a free transfer.

United still remain well off the pace in terms of challenging with Manchester City and Liverpool for the title though and Scholes says only Pogba would get into Jurgen Klopp’s side of the current crop of United players.

‘Pogba in his best form would,’ he told Premier League Productions.

‘He is indicative of what the club are doing. Every player is inconsistent. People running the club are inconsistent in what they are doing.

‘I have been a big critic of Paul, but if you are an opposing player going to Old Trafford and you are playing against Fred and McTominay ‘all day long’.

‘Now, you don’t know what you are going to get with Paul. But when he is on his game, he is brilliant.

‘But when he isn’t, then against your Liverpool and Man City’s, you might struggle in them areas. Where do Man United go next year to replace him?’

Pogba’s display against Leeds left another United legend in awe with Rio Ferdinand impressed with what he saw.

He admitted he was surprised to see him taken off on 67 minutes, along with Jesse Lingard, for Fred and Anthony Elanga, but the decision ultimately paid off with both substitutes scoring.
