Paul Merson predicts 'big trouble' ahead of Everton vs Wolves clash

Paul Merson reckons Wolverhampton Wanderers could inflict more misery on Frank Lampard's Everton side at Goodison Park on Sunday.

Everton have lost their past three league matches and were thrashed 5-0 by Tottenham Hotspur last time out, leaving them just a point outside the relegation zone.

Eighth-placed Wolves, meanwhile, ended a run of three straight defeats by cruising to a 4-0 victory over strugglers Watford at Molineux on Thursday night as they bid to maintain their challenge for a European spot.

Former Aston Villa and Arsenal star Merson thinks Everton will be in "big trouble" if they lose to Wolves - and is predicting a 2-1 win for Bruno Lage's men.

Merson also hailed Ruben Neves following his stunning goal against Watford and claims "every team" will be looking at him ahead of the summer transfer window.

"Everton have to win this game," Merson told Sportskeeda. "They have Wolves and Newcastle at home coming up, and they need at least four points from these two games.

"I don’t see how Everton are going to get that big Premier League result this season.
