Arsenal hero Paul Merson has backed his old side to beat Leicester City on Sunday afternoon as Mikel Arteta's side continue their quest to qualify for next season's UEFA Champions League.

The Gunners now find themselves two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United in the current Premier League standings after the Red Devils secured a 3-2 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.

However, Arteta and Co have four games in hand on United and can go back above them by beating the Foxes at the Emirates Stadium, something that Merson has predicted to happen.

Writing for Sportskeeda, he said: "Leicester have turned a bit of a corner, but they’ll have to do without Jamie Vardy this week.

"Youri Tielemans could be on the move this summer – Brendan Rodgers has made him a much better player.

"He hasn’t signed a contract as yet, and I think he’ll be on his way.

"The football Arsenal played last week was breathtaking. They could put severe pressure on United and Spurs in the top-four race with a victory. This game will be tight, but I’d expect Arsenal to win this game."
