Mikel Arteta has had his critics at Arsenal, but it now looks as if the Gunners boss is finally getting some recognition.
After his first full season in the Emirates hot seat ended with a disappointing eighth-place Premier League finish, Arteta hung on to his post and has arduously managed to turn Arsenal around, with his youthful, superstar-less side now favourites to finish fourth this term and qualify for the Champions League.
And the Spaniard's work has evidently not gone unnoticed, as after tentative links with the vacant Barcelona job last year, Paris Saint-Germain have shortlisted him to replace the under-fire Mauricio Pochettino, according to L'Equipe.
On PSG's list of candidates, Arteta joins Tottenham boss Antonio Conte, while Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri and Inter Milan's Simone Inzaghi are said to be highly thought of by the French giants - not bad company.
The 39-year-old's time in north London has undoubtedly been a mixed bag, yet Barcelona's reported interest in obtaining his services came almost a year prior to PSG's - another club where he spent time as a player - hinting that he has long-time admirers.
