The cobbles strike fear into every rider, even those who have won the Monument in northern France. Ad Dylan van Baarle is the defending men’s champion and Elisa Longo Borghini will defend her women’s crown.

Both events will be bookended by The Breakaway, where Orla Chennaoui will be joined by Dani Christmas, Adam Blythe and Dan Lloyd. Van Baarle is set to be back in action after missing the Tour of Flanders due to his crash at the E3 Saxo Classic, but he might have been affected by the time off. Should it come down to a group sprint and Pedersen is in the leading group, you would back him to cap off his great spring. Pidcock
