Parents' fury after being kicked out of Morrisons supermarket over 'no kids' policy
A mum and dad have said they will never return to a Morrisons store after their son was “kicked out” due to a policy in place at a shopping centre banning under 18s without an adult. Oliver Atkinson’s mum claims he was approached by a security guard who asked the 13-year-old to leave Killingworth Morrisons in North Tyneside.
The teenager had gone to the Morrisons at Killingworth on the afternoon of Wednesday to try out his new bike and to get ingredients to make sausage and egg muffins at the weekend, a recipe he had learned from school. But the year 8 pupil was soon asked to leave, Chronicle Live reports.
His mum Hazel says that when she called the supermarket to make a formal complaint, she was left on hold for an hour before being told that "I'm sorry, I'm not taking this phone call, have a nice day," before she was hung up on. And the furious mum has vowed never to return.

At the Killingworth Shopping Centre, where the Morrisons is located, there are signs in place which state that there is no admittance to under 18s without a responsible adult after 4pm. However, Oliver was shopping straight after school at around 3.30pm, his mum says.
Hazel said: "It's quite frustrating because Oliver is 13 and he's just getting into cooking and he loves to cook for himself. He was looking forward to getting all this stuff and they've banned him from going to the shop.
"We usually collect the ingredients for him but he wanted to go himself on his new bike so we gave him the money and off he went."
Although Hazel and Andrew have been regular customers at the supermarket t in the Killingworth Centre, they will now take their business
