Paratici given green light for "unbelievable" £40m Spurs signing, he's Conte's "dream" - opinion
Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to bring Tomas Soucek to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report by Football Insider, who claim that, following a breakdown in his contract renewal talks with West Ham United, the central midfielder’s agents have now offered Tottenham – who had already been credited with an interest in the Czech Republic international this summer – the chance to sign the 27-year-old.
The report goes on to state that a source has revealed it is extremely likely the former Slavia Prague star secures a £40m move away from the London Stadium in the coming months, as Soucek’s relationship with David Moyes is believed to have completely deteriorated as a result of his failed talks over a new deal in east London.
Considering just how impressive Soucek has been for West Ham over the past two and a half years, the suggestion that Fabio Paratici now looks to have been given the green light to move for the midfielder is undoubtedly fantastic news for the sporting director and Antonio Conte alike.
Indeed, over his 38 Premier League appearances during his first full campaign in England, the £40.5m-rated talent proved just how deadly he can be in an attacking capacity, scoring ten goals, registering one assist and creating two big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.7 shots and making 0.5 key passes per game.
The £67k-per-week midfielder also impressed in metrics more typical of his position, making an average of 1.6 interceptions, 2.1 tackles, 2.7 clearances, 31.9 passes and winning 9.6 duels – at a success rate of 54% – per fixture.
These returns saw the 27-year-old average a quite remarkable SofaScore match rating of 7.16,
