Paralympics 2024: Nicole Turner through to S6 50m freestyle final
Irish swimmer Nicole Turner is through to the final of the women's S6 50m freestyle at the Paralympic Games.
The Tokyo silver medallist took third place in heat two, in a time of 35.35, to finish fifth overall and be amongst those in the medal race this evening.
China's Yuyan Jiang set a new Paralympic record as she qualified fastest in 32.70.
Turner has shown good form so far this year, having won gold, silver and two bronze at the European Championships.
Also in Turner's heat was 17-year-old Dearbhaile Brady, in her Games debut.
She clocked a time of 36.45, placing her tenth overall, not enough to see her make the final.
