No surprises from Australia in terms of selection, with Josh Hazlewood again missing out.

Nassem Shah comes back into the side at number 11.

Other than that, Pakistan are completely unchanged.

I mean, you'd be mad not to.

No chance of doing anything else on this absolute road of a pitch at Lahore, which is hosting its first Test match in 13 years.

Rob Key on the host broadcast coverage has said that there was some live green grass on the pitch, but I have no idea where he's seen that.

It looks very flat and very dry.

Captain Pat seems pretty happy with that result.

«Looks like a good wicket,» he says, with a big caveat.

«If it will have some spin in it will be days four and five.»

Indeed.

«Pitch looks good,» says Babar Azam, «maybe third or fourth day will help the spinners.»

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the ABC Sport live coverage of Australia's Test series in Pakistan.

I'm Simon Smale and I'm flying solo for this, the third and deciding Test in Lahore.

We've had two draws in the opening two matches of this series, with Australia arguably throwing away a chance at victory by not enforcing the follow on last time out in Karachi.

The pitch looks like it's going to be mighty similar in Lahore to what we've seen before, so we could be in for another long couple of days.
