Paddy Carr and Aidan O'Rourke set to take Donegal management job

Donegal's long running search for a new senior management team looks to be at an end.

The county committee has been looking for a replacement for Declan Bonner since last July but it is expected that Aidan O'Rourke and Paddy Carr will be put forward for ratification by clubs at a specially convened committee meeting on Monday evening.

According to the Donegal Democrat, the 40 clubs of the county will be asked to accept the nomination of both men.

A statement read: "There are County Executive and County Committee meetings tomorrow evening in the Donegal GAA Centre in Convoy."

Former Armagh All-Ireland winner and RTÉ Sport columnist O’Rourke previously managed Louth and last year served as assistant manager to Down boss James McCartan.

Carr previously played for Donegal and had huge success in the past with Kilmacud Crokes - leading them to an All-Ireland club title.

This appointment would leave Roscommon as the only county still waiting to ratify their senior football management team.

Former Wicklow manager Davy Burke is one of the names being discussed for that role - along with former Westmeath, Offaly and Sligo manager Pat Flanagan, who has led Padraig Pearses to two Roscommon SFC titles.
