Owen Hargreaves mocks Paul Scholes over comment about Omonia goalkeeper Francis Uzoho vs Man Utd

Owen Hargreaves jokingly mocked Manchester United great Paul Scholes for comments he made about Omonia Nicosia goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who defied belief with his display at Old Trafford on Thursday night.

Uzoho denied Marcus Rashford and Casemiro in the opening 45 minutes, as well as making countless other stops, while the Nigerian reserved his best for the restart when pulling off an incredible double save from summer recruit Antony and Rashford. For the most part, United simply could not find their way past the inspired stopper.

However, he was eventually beaten in the 93rd-minute by Scott McTominay after he came off the bench. But the post-match showering towards Uzoho was, seemingly, not enough to impress Scholes.

Speaking in the BT Sport studio, Scholes said: "He was good. I don't think he made saves which you thought were unbelievable and he possibly shouldn't be making - possibly the one from Casemiro where he touched it onto the crossbar - but I think it was also a mixture of poor finishing.

"See these are saves... that one [from Rashford] is middle of the goal. You should make them."

At that stage, Hargreaves jokingly interjected. He added: "Middle of the goal?"

Scholes continued: "He saved almost everything. It would have been a miracle if he had saved from McTominay. I forgot about some of the saves as there were so many of them!

"Look, he was great, don't get me wrong. He saved everything he should have saved."

Hargreaves replied: "His smile on his face at the end of the game. It was a huge moment, and we all have games in our careers... we all have moments that can change our career and I'm sure that can be one for him, because we are all now going to know his
