Overturned caravan closes part of M48 Severn Bridge
A part of the M48 of the Severn Bridge has reopened after a caravan overturned on the road. The eastbound carriageway of the motorway on the Severn Bridge between Gloucestershire and Monmouthshire was closed on Monday morning.
Emergency services and traffic officers were in attendance. On Twitter, Gwent Police advised people to "avoid the area" and take an alternative route. Diversions were put in place via the M4 on the Prince of Wales Bridge.
The incident occurred between J1 of the A403 in Aust, Gloucestershire and J2 A466 Wye Valley Link Road in Chepstow. Trapped traffic has been released past the scene and delays were said to be "likely" in the area.
The eastbound carriageway has since reopened. According to traffic monitoring service, Inrix, traffic is easing in the area. and overturned caravan been removed between the junctions.
