'Our blueprint is good' - Klaasen backs Proteas' functional systems for Sunday's series decider

Proteas batter Heinrich Klaasen said they don't need to fix anything ahead of Sunday's series-deciding third ODI against England in Leeds.

South Africa was subjected to a 118-run shellacking in Friday's second ODI in Manchester where they made 83, their joint-lowest score against England in an ODI.

The reversal in the rain-shortened game was a stark reminder of the vagaries of cricket where SA has scored 333/5 in Tuesday's first ODI that they won comfortably.

"I don't think we need to change anything because our blueprint is good," Klaasen said.

"We bowled extremely well and even when we were put under pressure, the guys were able to fight back and took wickets after the big overs.

"I don't think we need to change a lot. We just need to have the belief and the confidence because we're playing good cricket.

"They bowled extremely well up front and they put us under pressure. They put us on the back foot."

The defeat on Friday was South Africa's first in an ODI in Manchester since 1994, but it was a loss that left them facing the unwanted prospect of having to deal with a deciding game.

South Africa last won an ODI series in England back in 1998 when they contested what became the last edition of the Texaco Cup that was played in white clothing and a red ball.

In that series, they lost the third ODI at Headingley, a ground where at the 1999 World Cup, Herschelle Gibbs would famously drop Steve Waugh in their crucial game against Australia.

They also lost there in the 2008 ODI series where they were routed 4-0 by the hosts after they won the Test series.
