Osimhen to appear in court today over alleged assault on journalist

Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen is expected to appear in Istanbul court today after he filed a lawsuit against a Turkish reporter who accused him of assault.

A source told The Guardian that the former Wolfsburg and Lille star officially filed a lawsuit, today, Monday, 27th January.

”Osimhen is heading to court today. He has officially filed a lawsuit against a Turkish journalist who sued him for assault,” his close aide said.

A drama ensued last week when a journalist took Osimhen’s pictures after the Nigerian striker warned him against it, thereby leading to assault. But Osimhen vehemently denied the allegation.

Osimhen claimed that the journalist’s actions were invasive and unprofessional while the journalists claimed that Osimhen became violent and aggressive when confronted about the photos.

The Nigerian expressed shock and disappointment at the journalist’s behavior, stating that he was trying to protect himself and his rights.

Osimhen said he would not tolerate false accusations and would do everything humanly possible to clear his name.
