Orta now plotting offer for "extraordinary" £20m Leeds target, imagine him & Bamford - opinion

Leeds United are reportedly one of the teams looking to sign Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton-Diaz during the summer transfer window.

According to a recent report from The Sun, the Whites are interested in bringing the striker to Elland Road this summer, as are the likes of fellow Premier League clubs Everton and the newly-promoted AFC Bournemouth.

The report also claims that Eintracht Frankfurt and Olympique Lyon are also looking to secure the Chilean’s signature.

After spending time at Manchester United, Stoke City and Nottingham Forest at youth level, the 23-year-old joined Blackburn on an initial loan deal before signing permanently in the 2019 January transfer window.

Overall, the centre-forward has made 126 appearances for the Lancashire club across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and delivering 12 assists in the process.

His latest campaign at Ewood Park saw the striker find the net 22 times in 36 Championship appearances, which shows why so many clubs, including Leeds, are after him.

In fact, only four other players in the division racked up more shots on target than Brereton-Diaz (49).

Taking into account how Leeds have been reliant on Patrick Bamford’s goals since their return to the Premier League, having a player like the Blackburn star could give Jesse Marsch the chance to form a deadly strike partnership alongside the Englishman at Elland Road.

With 19 goals scored in 47 Premier League appearances, Bamford has shown his credentials for being a regular goalscorer for his side, as the Chile international has done at Blackburn.

Therefore, if Victor Orta can find a way to get the Championship star to make a move to Yorkshire this summer, this will give Jesse Marsch the chance to get the duo playing
