Opinion: Predicting the Celtic starting line-up to face Ross County

After winning at Tannadice on Monday evening to reach the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, Celtic are back in league action tomorrow when the Hoops take on Ross County at Celtic Park.

With eight games of the Premiership season remaining, the Hoops, who are currently three points clear at the top of the table, will be eager for the three points to put pressure on second placed Rangers before they face Dundee on Sunday.

With Celtic’s first league game after the international break a trip to Ibrox to face Rangers, it is important that the Bhoys are at least three points clear at the top of the table.

There are some injury updates ahead of the game, as Hoops podcast The Cynic revealed on Twitter that Celtic boss Ange Postecogou revealed at today’s press conference that Jota and Liel Abada are back from injury, James Forrest will miss the game and, perhaps most significantly, David Turnbull is back for the first time since December.

With that news, the Hoops boss has plenty of options to choose from his starting line-up.

In goals, that means Joe Hart continuing to keep his place in the side. In the full-back positions, Anthony Ralston could well return to the side, with Josip Juranovic at left-back, and Greg Taylor on the bench.

At centre-back, it will likely be the usual duo of Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers who will be tasked with helping the Bhoys keep a clean sheet and Ross County’s chances to a minimum.

In midfield, even though David Turnbull is back in action, it is probably too soon for him to be back in the side, but it would be good for him to be on the bench, and perhaps he will make an appearance in the second-half.
