Opinion: Predicting the Celtic line-up to face Rangers

Finally, are a two week break for international fixtures, Celtic are back in action this weekend, and the game that the Hoops is quite a big one – the Glasgow derby at Ibrox against Rangers on Sunday.

Everyone reading this article will be aware of the situation in the Premiership, but here is a quick reminder. The Hoops are three points clear in the title race ahead of Rangers, with seven games left to play. Celtic know what is on the line in the game, a win would make the Bhoys favourites to win the league, even though the team would take nothing for granted.

As for the team that will be selected by Ange Postecoglou, the Hoops boss provided an intriguing update earlier today when he revealed, as reported by the Daily Record, that the only player who is injured and will miss the game is James Forrest, which means that Kyogo is fit and available for selection for the first time since December.

There is no doubt about who will be in goals for Celtic – Joe Hart. He has made that position his own this season, and no doubt he will be up for the match. Hopefully he doesn’t have the busiest of games.

At the full-back areas, whilst some might call for Anthony Ralston to get the start, it is more likely that Greg Taylor will be at left-back with Josip Juranovic at right-back. 

At centre-back, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt will be the duo tasked with helping the Hoops keep a clean sheet and keep Rangers’ chances in the game to a minimum.

Now to the midfield, where the Hoops boss has a lot of choices to select from. Celtic captain Callum McGregor will start, but there has to be a bit of uncertainly about the two players that will play alongside him.
