Joe Donnohue has highlighted what Raphinha did after Leeds United’s winning goal on the weekend.

It was a very dramatic game at Elland Road on Sunday which saw two goals in the second half of added time with one coming from both sides but it was Leeds United’s winner which will live long in the memory.

Raphinha, who had just one goal involvement in his last eight league games prior to Sunday but it was certainly worth the wait for his next one as his assist was sublime to scoop the ball around Tim Krul, stay composed and pick out Joe Gelhardt unmarked in the box to tap home.

While this was sublime from the Brazilian, Dunnohue has picked out that Raphinha released relief and joy after they scored by booting the advertisement boards at the side of the pitch.

Leeds are certainly having a poor season still just four points above the bottom three but a bright spark has been raphinha who’s dragged them through games quite often this season with his nine goals and three assists, as well as creating the most goal-scoring opportunities for his teammates (FBRef).

Reports have suggested that the two sides are working on a new contract which would only be fair given how well he’s performed since he arrived in England in the summer of 2020, but both parties may hold off until Premier League safety is secured before committing to anything long term.
