“On paper, it’s a very good signing” – Hull City fan pundit reacts to transfer links with 40-cap international

Hull City have registered an interest in bringing Ivory Coast international midfielder Jean Michael Seri to the club, according to Football Insider.

The 30-year-old has not had his contract extended by Championship title winners Fulham, who signed him in 2018 from French outfit Nice for a reported fee of £25 million.

Seri though, who has been capped 40 times for his country over the course of his career, never lived up to the price-tag at Craven Cottage though, and was shipped out on loan twice to Galatasaray and Bordeaux respectively, before returning to first-team contention at Fulham under Marco Silva.

Despite appearing 33 times for the Cottagers this past season, Seri was told his deal would not be renewed and he is set to move on, and both Acun Ilicali and Shota Arveladze will know the midfielder well from their time following and managing in Turkish football respectively.

Speaking on the Tigers’ apparent interest in Seri, FLW’s Hull fan pundit Ant Northgraves has given his full approval of the potential acquisition but is skeptical on whether it will happen, saying: “I think Seri would be a great addition to any Championship – especially a club that’s in transition like ours who is trying to upgrade the standard of player they bring into the side to push a bit further up the table this season.
