'On fire' - ex-QPR and Nottingham Forest striker's exciting verdict on Bolton Wanderers forwards

Bolton Wanderers have four players 'on fire' in the forward department at the moment and Ian Evatt has a great opportunity to rotate his options.

That's the verdict of ex-QPR and Nottingham Forest striker Jamie Mackie.

Wanderers had four different goalscorers in the 4-0 win over AFC Wimbledon yesterday and all are from the forward areas of the Bolton squad.

Wanderers took the lead in the first half thanks to Jon Dadi Bodvarsson's header as he scored his first goal for Bolton.

Dapo Afolayan then added a second after the break, before Dion Charles clinically finished to put Wanderers three goals to the good.

And Amadou Bakayoko came off the bench to net Bolton's fourth as Wanderers narrowed their gap to the play-offs to seven points, thanks to results elsewhere in the day going their way too.

Speaking on the EFL highlights show on Quest, Mackie had positive things to say about the strikeforce at Bolton and the exciting option Evatt has to rotate players who are in form right now.

He said: "Afolayan is more of a 10 or left winger, but he is a forward player. Charles is the one who has scored six goals now and they signed him in Janaury and he looks so sharp at the minute.

"I think having the options that they have got and you've got people in form, you've got the opportunity - which is still rare that you have four of them who are on fire - is that you've got four and you rotate them.

"They play, they give you 60 minutes maybe, at 80 minutes and the next one comes on and they're all scoring goals."
