Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2: Intense stare off at the weigh-in

Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua have taken to the scales ahead of their eagerly awaited rematch in Saudi Arabia tomorrow night.

The Brit hit the scales first, coming in at a hefty 244.4lbs, which is a slight increase on his weight for the first fight where he lost via unanimous decision in front of a home crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

On the other hand, Usyk shocked us all completely with his weight. Much was made in the build-up to the fight and weigh-in, with the general consensus that the Ukrainian had piled the pounds on whilst bulking up for the fight.

After coming in at just half a pound heavier than the first fight, we have been left shocked at the deceptive nature of Usyk’s physique in the build up to the bout, with a considerable heavier weight predicted.

It will be his first defence of his titles after usurping Joshua last time out, with neither fighter taking on any fights since September last year when they first stepped foot in the ring together.

The Ring Magazine belt is also on the line in the clash after Tyson Fury decided to vacate the belt, meaning whoever wins will just be one title away from being the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

At the weigh in, the former heavyweight champion and the current heavyweight champion engaged in the customary stand-off, with it being incredibly tense.

Neither fighter moves a muscle for almost two minutes as the stare each other down, trying to intimidate one another before the big fight tomorrow night.
