Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua 2: AJ opens up about social media negativity ahead of rematch

Anthony Joshua has opened up about dealing with ‘negativity’ after being criticised on social media at various times during his career.

The Britishsuperstar – speaking ahead of his highly-anticipated rematch against Oleksandr Usyk tonight – also declared how he doesn’t want anyone to care about him any more once he has retired from the sport.

AJ – who hasn’t featured in the boxing ring since having his former titles ripped away from him by Usyk last September – is only a few hours away from returning to the squared circle.

Speaking to DAZN, Joshua – who turns 33 in October – revealed that he doesn’t let it affect him in the slightest.

When asked whether there is a particular way he copes with the criticism that comes his way, he said: “Just trying to plan. Just planning that once negativity is done, now I’m going to enjoy my life.

“I’ll take the s**t. I’ll take it. Give me all that s**t.

“And then once I’m done, no care about me no more. Give me all this s**t now. I’m not craving attention either.

“I’m just hustling. It’s just a hustle right now. I just think to myself, ‘Give me all this s**t. And then in about ten years, you’re going to be giving someone else s**t as well’.

“I’m going to be sitting there looking at that young kid like, ‘Man, I know exactly how you feel. I went through the same s**t you went through as well’. It’s just a passing of the torch. I’m just taking this s**t a mile a minute, and someone else will in the future.”
