Offaly condemn Meath to Tailteann Cup
Meath suffered one of the darkest days in their footballing history as defeat to Offaly saw them exit the Leinster SFC at the quarter-final stage.
The Royals will play the rest of their campaign in the second-tier competition, the Tailteann Cup, as a second half fightback fell short.
The visitors scored just two points in the first half as they went in 1-08 to 0-02 down at the break.
Rory Egan found the net for Offaly.
It was a nervy finish for the Faithful County but they saw it out by four points to progress to a semi-final with Louth.
