Nwankwo Kanu rewards Enyimba players with ₦2m after victory over Rivers United

Chairman of Enyimba FC, Nwankwo Kanu, has rewarded the team with ₦2 million after their impressive 4-1 victory over Rivers United in a matchday 34 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture.

In a thrilling match on Sunday, 2nd June 2024, Enyimba emerged victorious, much to the delight of their chairman.

After the match, as the team gathered in the dressing room, Kanu surprised everyone by announcing a ₦2 million reward to be shared among the players and officials, according to a BSNSports.com.ng report.

According to Kanu, the cash gift is intended to motivate the team to continue performing well in future matches.

The former Ajax and Arsenal star also highlighted the importance of winning the league and expressed his confidence in the team’s potential.

“We have the quality to win the league. This team has immense talent and potential, and I have no doubt that we will lift the trophy at the end of the season,” Kanu said.

“With four games to go, I charge you all to stay focused and determined. Let’s go all out and win the league! We can do it.”

This generous gesture from Kanu, a two-time winner of the African Footballer of the Year award, is expected to inspire the team as they approach the final stages of the season, aiming for the NPFL title. Football lovers can follow the NPFL on Beta Sports channel 244 on StarTimes.
