Nuno Tavares' dreadful celebration for Arsenal after comical Man Utd defending

Manchester United went into their game away at Arsenal in desperate need of a win.

Ralf Rangnick’s side were thrashed 4-0 by Liverpool in their last Premier League fixture and the onus was on them to bounce back in order to stand any chance of finishing in the top four.

But just three minutes into the match at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, United found themselves 1-0 down.

The often-criticised Nuno Tavares tapped into an empty net for Arsenal after David de Gea brilliantly saved Bukayo Saka’s curling effort.

United’s defending in the build-up was woeful, with both Raphael Varane and Alex Telles failing to clear the ball inside the box.

Arsenal took full advantage and the only thing worse than the visitors’ attempts to nullify the danger was Tavares’ celebration.

The Portuguese left-back tried to nail a knee slide right by the goal, but it all went horribly wrong for him…
