NSSF picks 25 for China 2024 ISF World School Cup

The Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF) has picked 25 players for the 2024 International School Sport Federation (ISF) World School Cup for girls, which will hold in Dalian, China from May 16 to 27.

Over 300 girls from secondary schools across the country participated in a two-day trial held inside the main bowl of the National Stadium, Surulere.

Speaking after the trials, a member of the NSSF football committee, Faith Irabor, said she was particularly excited with the talents displayed by the students and commended the NSSF for making the selection transparent.

Speaking on the world championship, NSSF President, Olabisi Joseph,urged well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations to support the federation in sponsoring the country’s contingent to China.

Joseph commended the smooth organisation of the trials, while also expressing excitement on the quality of talents showcased by the students.

The NSSF boss stated that the team will resume camping in Abuja to further prune down the squad to the 16 that will make the trip to the World School Cup.
