Nottingham helps Sean Dyche get over Burnley sacking as fans grab photos with ex-Forest defender

Former Nottingham Forest defender Sean Dyche returned to his footballing roots to help him get over his sacking as Burnley manager.

Dyche, 50, was sacked by the Clarets after a recent decline in Premier League form. The Lancashire outfit sat 18th in the table at the time of his sacking, four points from safety. They had won just once in a run of seven Premier League games, including a 2-0 defeat to fellow relegation strugglers Norwich at the weekend.

Whilst the managerial decision surprised many in football, Dyche chose to head back to where his footballing career blossomed in order to help himself get over the shock sacking. The now ex-Burnley boss was seen happily taking pictures with football fans in Nottingham city centre at various venues as he enjoyed a couple of drinks before then taking in a Manchester acts tribute night at Rock City.

@MikeGarraet1994 tweeted a picture of him alongside Dyche in the queue outside Rock City, saying: "Sacked on Friday. In Rock City on the lash on Sunday - I’m so here for Sean Dyche."

Meanwhile @bristol_claret added: "Mate's son bumped into Dyche at pub in Nottingham yesterday [Saturday]. Looks like the big man is managing to get over the trauma of Friday."

Dyche was sacked by the Clarets alongside fellow ex-Reds Ian Woan and Steve Stone. Whilst the former failed to make a first-team appearance under Brian Clough due to a severe leg injury, Woan and Stone became fan favourites at the East Midlands club after making over 400 appearances combined throughout 1989 to 2000.
