Nottingham Forest told to 'walk away' from transfer as figures emerge

Nottingham Forest fans have told the club to ‘walk away’ from a deal for number one transfer target Morgan Gibbs-White after figures of their latest offer were reported.

It was claimed late last week that Forest saw an offer of up to £35 million rejected by Wolves for the midfielder. The player was then named in Wolves’ starting line-up for their Premier League encounter vs Leeds United less than 24 hours.

However, more details have now emerged over the rejected offer, with Sky Sports claiming that add-ons in the deal were worth £17m instead of £10m that was initially reported. It means that the total fee, including add-ons would have been £42m.

Gibbs-White impressed while on loan with Sheffield United in the Championship last season. He scored ten times and provided eight assists in 34 league appearances. He has previously worked with Forest boss Steve Cooper at both England youth levels and during a spell with Swansea City.

Following the latest update, Reds’ fans have taken to social media to give their reaction, with many telling the club to not return with an improved offer. Here’s what just some had to say.

: Move on from MGW. Go all out on Sarr, Joao Pedro and Dennis. #nffc

: Yeah… £42Million

Absolutely time to walk away. #NFFC

: I’m all in favour of Cooper getting his main man, but that’s ridiculous money now. They aren’t budging so we should move on and spend £40 million on 2/3 quality players instead, preferably with PL experience which Saturday proved we needed desperately #NFFC

: Move on from @Morgangibbs27 #nffc. Wolves clearly don’t want to sell. Cracking player, would love MGW at the City Ground but we need to strengthen quickly and this is just wasting time, unfortunately

: Nope .... pass. Walk
