Nottingham Forest's main threats ahead of Premier League clash against Manchester United

Manchester United will be looking to turn their early-season poor form around against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford this weekend, but Steve Cooper’s side are no pushovers - especially based on their start to the Premier League season.

Forest appeared to have a really tough opening game to the season, facing the Premier League runners-up from last season in Arsenal - who themselves were hot off of their Charity Shield victory over Manchester City. In spite of the odds being weighed massively out of their favour, Forest held their own - losing the narrowly contested match 2-1.

The East Midlands club were unlucky not to get themselves back into the game, ending the match with a higher xG than the north London club. Forest followed this up with a 2-1 home win over Sheffield United, with Chris Wood grabbing a late goal to give his side their first points of the season.

Talisman Taiwo Awoniyi has also started this season superbly - bagging two goals across Forest’s two opening league games. The Nigerian striker will be a real concern for United’s defenders, as he picked up a total of 11 goals last season - ten of those being scored in the Premier League.

He is a specialist in the box, and with the Red Devils missing Luke Shaw’s presence at left-back through injury - the threat of Forest crosses coming from the wide areas will be increased. Balls into the box from out wide will be something that United will have to be wary of - with Serge Aurier looking brilliant from the flank last week.
