Nottingham Forest rescue young autistic fan's birthday with kit donation

Nottingham Forest saved the birthday of a young autistic fan after his mother reached out to the club.

Eight-year-old Keelan Frain was desperate to get this season's away kit and blue goalkeeper shirt, but his mum Madaliene said she was unable to get hold of them in his size due to stock issues with the season entering the home straight.

She eventually sent a message to Miltiadis Marinakis, son of owner Evangelos Marinakis on social media, and the problem was solved with help from head of football operations Ed Henderson.

To add to Keelan's joy, Forest arranged to have the shirts printed with Samba and Mighten respectively on the back, two of his favourite players, as he attended the game against Bristol City at the weekend.

"I literally can’t thank them enough," Madaliene said. "The praise I have for the amazing club staff is immense.

"It was terrifying for me personally when he went to his first game at the start of the season, but he loved it so much we got him a season ticket. The stewards are just fabulous and he knows them all. He’s loving his life as a Forest fan and is convinced they are going to Wembley - and he will be there."
