Nottingham Forest have already explained stance on Dean Henderson transfer with Manchester United exit likely

Manchester United look set to undergo an exodus of goalkeepers this summer and Dean Henderson is no different, with the 26-year-old convinced he will join Nottingham Forest permanently.

Henderson spent this season on loan at the City Ground, helping the newly-promoted Forest maintain their Premier League status for another season at least. The Reds loanee featured 20 times for Steve Cooper's side before surgery on a thigh injury curtailed his season early in January.

Despite being unavailable for the second half of the season, Henderson remained in Nottingham and began his rehabilitation. His time at Forest has been incredibly positive, and he is understood to be perplexed by talks of him staying at United.

Forest have already mooted a £30million deal and informed the shot-stopper of their intention to keep him - although the Forest boss remained tight-lipped when quizzed on the situation recently.

"We have all enjoyed working with him," Cooper said last month. "We like his personality, he is a good professional and has a fantastic mentality.

"In terms of whether we will work with him again, it's hard to say. We are grateful for what he has given and what he will still give us. He will still be around and quite visible.

"Our medical team is working with United's over what they want our contribution to be towards his recovery. In terms of support, he will be with us until the end, which is what he would want.

"We have a good working relationship with United and communication. It is still fresh after the surgery for what his recovery plan will be. We wish him well."
