'Not silly' - Lee Bowyer backs Birmingham City striker Scott Hogan ahead of Sheffield United reunion
Lee Bowyer has praised Scott Hogan for taking his goal tally to double figures for the first time in five years.
The striker hit his 10th of the season in last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Derby County - his fourth in five games.
However, disappointment at the Rams’ late comeback meant more focus was put on the two good chances Hogan missed rather than the difficult one he took.
But as the Birmingham City forward turned his attention to facing former club Sheffield United at St Andrew’s on Friday night, his manager sounded a more conciliatory note, pointing out the progress Hogan has made since the summer.
“The chances that Scotty had are from positive things, from winning the ball up high,” Bowyer said.
“Scotty knows he should take those chances, everyone knows he should take those chance, but he is human.
