"Not going to look good on Frank Lampard" - Journalist drops brutally honest Everton claim

Everton getting relegated could be really damaging for Frank Lampard‘s reputation, believes journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 43-year-old already has his doubters after being sacked by Chelsea and failing to win promotion with Derby County, and O’Rourke thinks adding relegation to his CV would be detrimental in his young career as a manager.

Not well. The ex-Chelsea and Derby boss just oversaw a humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Prior, he was able to steer Everton to victory and to a crucial three points against relegation rivals Newcastle United in the Premier League. However, before that, the Toffees had gone on a run that saw them win just one of their previous nine top-flight games.

It shows just how much the Englishman and predecessor Rafael Benitez, who started that run, have struggled at Goodison Park this season.

Those terrible results have left Everton just above the relegation zone, meaning that Lampard and his team are in a real fight for survival.

O’Rourke does not think Lampard can afford to see Everton go down, telling GIVEMESPORT that it would not be a good look for the England legend.

Speaking to GMS, the insider said: “If Everton were to suffer relegation, it’s not going to look good on Frank Lampard. He was brought in to ensure they stay up so massive few weeks ahead for Everton, who do look like they have a tough run-in as well, the fixtures that are ahead of them.”

It will certainly be a difficult challenge, with Lampard not having plenty of experience and currently in an unfamiliar position.
