Norris ‘couldn’t see’ Ocon during last-lap battle

Lando Norris said he “couldn’t see” where Esteban Ocon was due to the new regulations as the two battled late on during the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

While McLaren continue to struggle with Daniel Ricciardo forced to retire late on, Lando Norris had a reason to celebrate as registered his first points of the 2022 season with a seventh-placed finish in Saudi Arabia.

However, it could have been one better for the Brit as he battled Alpine’s Esteban Ocon in the final laps of the race.

The two were side-by-side going into the final corner but Ocon was able to pull away and maintain his lead across the finish line despite Norris using DRS.

After the race, the McLaren driver said he struggled with vision during their battle.

“What also had me over here is because the visibility is so much worse, as soon as I braked, I couldn’t see where Esteban was because you can’t see as far left,” he Norris said to Sky Sports F1.
