Noel Gallagher says 'I'm Irish' in response to question on England's Euro 2024 hopes
Noel Gallagher is probably Manchester City's most famous supporter, but the Mancunian identifies with Ireland more than his country of birth.
When asked by the BBC about England's hopes at Euro 2024, as he celebrated City's fourth Premier League title in a row at the Etihad Stadium, Gallagher replied: "I'm not an England fan. I'm Irish."
The Oasis star had been speaking in glowing terms about City's success.
"It means we are now out on our own as, you know, the greatest club side in England. No one's done four [titles] in a row. It puts us above Liverpool, Man United, and Arsenal - and much deserved. It's been a great season, and we're not even at our best apparently!"
