Nkunku double gives Milan 3-0 win over Verona

MILAN, Dec ‌28 : AC Milan beat Hellas Verona 3-0 on Sunday to leapfrog leaders Inter and provisionally move top of the Serie A standings thanks to a ‌brace from Christopher Nkunku.

Milan ‌struggled to break down a disciplined Verona side in the first half but made the breakthrough from a corner in added time when ‍Christian Pulisic volleyed home near the far post.

Nkunku then scored twice in five minutes in the second half, ​first from the ‌penalty spot after he was fouled in the box and ​then again when he pounced on a ⁠rebound from a ‌Luka Modric shot that came ​off the post.

The result moved Milan two points clear of ‍derby rivals Inter, who face Atalanta ⁠away later on Sunday, while Verona remain ​18th.
