Nir Bitton in talks over Israel return after Celtic exit
Nir Bitton could be set for a return to Israel following his exit from Celtic.
The Scottish champions confirmed the midfielder's exit last month as well as Tom Rogic’s departure.
It followed 245 appearances across nine seasons at Celtic, winning a host of trophies, including eight Premiership titles.
He said: “When I came to Celtic I never thought I would be part of such exciting times and it truly has been amazing to be part of such a great club.”
According to reports in the player's homeland, the 30-year-old is in talks with Maccabi Tel Aviv over a summer transfer.
The Israeli giants are without a manager after finishing third in the league last season.
They are the country's most decorated side with 23 league titles.
Bitton, who has 39 caps for his country, has ample Israeli Premier League experience with more than 120 appearances for Ashdod, who he played for prior to his move to Celtic.
