Nike releases new 2021/22 Premier League ball set to be on sale this Friday

The third and final Nike Premier League ball has been unveiled for the end of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Following on from the hi-vis yellow, red and blue ball used during the winter months, this new ball has splashes of white and sky blue with red circles.

Complete with black Nike and Premier League logos the ball is available on the Nike website from Friday, March 4.

The design also appears to feature target-style cross-hairs - ideal for those wanting something to strike freekicks at.

Following suit from the previous Nike designs the ball also has AerowSculpt technology which claims to improve the flight of the ball.

Nike has released an array of popular balls since the sports giant started being a supplier to the Premier League in 2000.

One of the most popular was the Nike Total 90 Aerow I used during the 2004/05 season which saw Arsenal's Thierry Henry taking home the golden boot with 25 league goals.

Fans will also surely remember the classic Nike Geo Merlin Vapor in 2002/03, a favourite of Manchester United's Ruud Van Nistelrooy who also secured the top scorer spot with 25 goals.

For style alone the Nike Total 90 Omni used in the 2008/09 season is a thing of pure nostalgic beauty. Fans will surely remember such iconic fixtures as Arsenal 's 4–4 draw with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool also drawing 4–4 with Arsenal.

Fans will be able to see the ball in action for the first time this weekend for such fixtures as the Manchester Derby taking place at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, March 6 at 4:30pm, live on Sky Sports.
