Nigerian striker Akinkunmi Amoo was not sent to jail in Denmark, says elder brother

Nigerian striker Akinkunmi Amoo who plays for FC Copenhagen faces sexual assault charges in Denmark.

FC Copenhagen forward, Akinkunmi Amoo’s elder brother, Sunday Amoo has debunked a report of his sibling being sentenced to prison in Denmark.

Sunday in a chat with sports journalist Tobi Samuel Adepoju on Tuesday dismissed Akinkunmi’s jail sentencing report as false.

“We appreciate everyone that has reached out to us, Akin is fine and he was not sent to jail. He has been injured and he is just coming back from injury.

“When the court permits, he will release a statement. He is not in prison, he is scheduled to train this (Tuesday) morning.”

A report on OmaSports Monday night had claimed that Akinkunmi had received a one-year prison sentence for sexual assault.

It said that the 21-year-old was sentenced by a Copenhagen court on
