Nier Automata: Leak suggests game is coming to Nintendo Switch

A reliable journalist has now claimed that Nier Automata is coming to Nintendo Switch.

As per Video Games Chronicle, the source of this rumour has shown his reliability previously by correctly reporting details about the Nintendo Direct showcase.

Nacho Requena is the editor of Spanish games magazine Manual, and he previously claimed that Nintendo Direct was scheduled for June 28th, and that it would mostly focus on third-party games.

On Monday, Nintendo confirmed the showcase on Tuesday, with 25 minutes of information set to be revealed about upcoming third-party titles.

Requena said: “I’ve also been told that some Persona game will be present, though I don’t know which game.

“I’ve also been told there will be another game that has been available for some time on other platforms… it’s been available for four years now.”

Asked on Twitter when the title was released, he revealed that it came out between 2017 and 2018, and then tweeted about Nintendo Direct with a GIF of Nier director Yoko Taro, as per VGC.

Nier Automata was first released for PS4 and PC in 2017 and ported to Xbox One in 2018.

It was critically well-received and received a score of 88 on Metacritic for the PS4 version, along with a user score of 8.9 from 4,284 ratings. That is a hugely impressive score.

Taro has previously said that he would be open to developing a Switch port, saying as much at E3 in 2018.

We have not had all that many updates since then but we could be getting a release date or a trailer soon enough, as the game could be shown off at Nintendo Direct.

We’ll let you know when we hear any updates about a release date or a trailer.
