'Nice try' - Kieran Trippier pokes fun at Newcastle star on Instagram

Kieran Trippier has taken to Instagram during his injury lay-off to poke fun at Newcastle United teammate Ryan Fraser.

Trippier is currently out injured with a metatarsal injury that required surgery, however, the defender has claimed he will still be travelling with the squad for this weekend’s crunch relegation clash, as he spoke on BBC Radio 5 Live.

It’s clear that Trippier has made an instant impact both on and off the pitch, with the full-back unbeaten in the Premier League since moving to Tyneside, but away from matchday, Fraser has labelled him a ‘monster’ for his presence and impact in the dressing room.

It’s not just Trippier that’s improved the team, as Fraser being able to stay injury-free and contribute with goals and assists in the way he has under Howe has been a major factor in Newcastle performing much better now.

The duo appear to share a great relationship off the pitch, with Trippier claiming he was taller than Fraser during an interview and now has taken it to Instagram to prove he is taller than the Scottish winger, writing ‘Nice try!’ in response to a question from Jamaal Lascelles:

Prior to Trippier’s injury, he was indeed one of Eddie Howe’s most important players having played almost every minute since joining the club and was even made vice-captain during Lascelles’ absence after just three league appearances, showing how highly regarded he is by Howe and his teammates.
