NFL London Games: Throwback to Adrian Peterson's monster TD run from 2013

Adrian Peterson’s touchdown for the Minnesota Vikings against the Pittsburgh Steelers will go down as an all-time great moment from the NFL London games. 

The Minnesota Vikings are in London this weekend for the first of the 2022 NFL London Games, where they will take on the New Orleans Saints at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Vikings come to London with a 2-0 record on this side of the Atlantic Ocean, having taken down the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013 at Wembley and the Cleveland Browns in 2017 at Twickenham.

That makes them the first team that will complete the ‘hat trick’ as it were of NFL venues in London, and they’ll be hoping to make it a hat trick of wins as well, something that will be very much welcome for them as they look to improve on their 2-1 record to start the season.

But even if they do win, it will take something special to do so in the spectacular fashion that they did in 2013 when running back and probably Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson ran the show.

Anyone who knows the NFL can tell you just how great Peterson, commonly referred to as AD for ‘All Day’, was for the whole of his career in the league, as he managed to put up more than 15,000 yards on the ground across the regular and postseason which turned into 125 touchdowns, he also led the league in rushing yards three times, in touchdowns twice and holds the record for most yards in a game with 296. 

But on this day, it was all about making sure the fans in the UK were witnesses to greatness, as he rushed for 140 yards and 2 touchdowns, including this 60-yard touchdown to extend their lead over the Steelers in the second quarter.
