United will be without Lisandro Martinez and Mason Mount this evening after Carrick confirmed the duo would not be available for the trip to St James' Park. Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are also doubts but United will give both players every opportunity to make the squad. Matthijs de Ligt and Patrick Dorgu remain sidelined.
