Newcastle United injury news as Magpies prepare to take on Pep Guardiola's Manchester City
Eddie Howe could welcome back Ryan Fraser and Matt Targett for the game against Manchester City this weekend. The duo are both expected to undertake late fitness tests to see if they'll be fit enough to face Pep Guardiola's side at St. James' Park on Sunday.
The Magpies have made an impressive start to the Premier League campaign and are unbeaten in their opening two fixtures, keeping a clean sheet in both of those games. The only other side in the division to do that, is this weekend's opponents City.
Guardiola's side are currently top of the pile having won both of their opening fixtures, scoring six goals in two games. Newcastle know they'll have to be at their very best if they're to deny the Premier League champions three points on home soil.

Thigh
"There wasn't really an injury it was more just tightness. He's had two scans, and they've come back clear. I don't think there's an injury, but maybe a problem that's stopping him from getting to full speed. Hopefully, that'll be very short term."
