Newcastle midfielder Joelinton praises ‘great man and coach’ Howe
Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton has opened up on his relationship with Magpies head coach Eddie Howe.
The Brazilian joined Newcastle for a club-record £40m fee in 2019 and had greatly struggled in the Premier League under Steve Bruce.

However, he has excelled since Howe replaced the 61-year-old last November.
In a league match against Norwich City defender Ciaran Clark was sent off early on and Joelinton slotted into a midfield role where he was able to showcase his qualities.

Since the 1-1 draw against the Canaries, the 25-year-old has been a mainstay in Howe’s midfield.
And he has discussed his relationship with the former Bournemouth boss, calling him “a great man and a great coach”.
“Since he came here he’s got the respect of every player here because he works so hard. He wants us all to get better and for me, he’s a great man and a great coach,” Joelinton told iNews (via Geordie Boot Boys).
“He pushes us a lot and that’s very important. I think it’s important the way we train – if you train hard, you’re going to play hard. Since he came here we work really hard in training and that’s important.
“We have a good relationship. The intensity, the passion he brings to job – it’s what we want.”
