Due to inclement weather, South Africa needed 219 in 37 overs as per DLS score and they fought well but ended up scoring 211 for 4 in the stipulated overs. South Africa on the other hand looked very loose. The seamers got the swing early on and the spinners got it to turn but lacked consistency throughout the match. Aiden Markram used 9 bowlers but only Lungi Ngidi and Marco Jansen looked settled as both took three wickets each. A lot to work on before they jump on the main stage. Even their fielding looked well below-par. Time for their batters to do the work. They will have to chase down a huge score. Can South Africa do it?

New Zealand have scored 300-plus for successive games. Good preparation for them before the World Cup. Their batters are looking in top form. Apart from Young, their top five made a big impact.
