New Orleans Saints: Head coach Dennis Allen drops big update on Michael Thomas' injury
New Orleans Saints head coach Dennis Allen has provided a critical update on the injury status of Michael Thomas.
The New Orleans Saints have been a somewhat consistent team over the past few years, winning the NFC South four seasons in a row from 2017-2020, winning 10 or more games in each of those seasons, and this past year finished 2nd in the division with a 9-8 record, which sadly wasn’t enough to get them in this time.
But whilst the results might have been consistent, one thing that hasn’t been totally consistent has been the players, as following the 2020 season they had to say goodbye to franchise quarterback and Saints icon Drew Brees, whilst this past offseason saw head coach Sean Payton step down, marking the end of an era somewhat in the Big Easy.
However, whilst there are some changes to personnel, one player who has been through it all has been wide receiver Michael Thomas, who has arguably been the critical skill player for the Saints.
Over the past few years, Thomas could easily make the argument that he was the best receiver in the league, with 4 straight seasons of over 1,000 yards and 3 straight years of over 100 catches, but it’s the 2019 season that made him stand out, as he set an NFL record with 149 catches, led the league in receiving yards with 1,725 and won Offensive Player of the Year:
