'Never would have thought...' - Transfer insider now drops 'massive' Everton summer claim

Transfer insider Dean Jones has now dropped a ‘massive’ Everton claim on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, admitting shock at a possible departure this summer.

Unfortunately for Calvert-Lewin, his season has been plagued by injuries, which means that he has never been able to gain any momentum since scoring in the opening three games of the Premier League (Transfermarkt).

This is in stark contrast to last term, where he managed to keep himself fit for the majority of it, and ending up banking 21 goals and five assists in total over all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones has revealed that Arsenal hold an interest in Calvert-Lewin, and believes that he will end up leaving Goodison Park in the summer:

“It’s been a massive turnaround for Calvert-Lewin this season. I never would have thought I’d be talking about him leaving, but I do think there is a decent chance he goes now.

“Arsenal are interested. We’ll have to wait and see whether that actually comes through, though, because Arsenal are looking at a lot of forwards at the moment.”

The Merseyside club must do everything in their power to keep Calvert-Lewin this summer.

It is no coincidence that the Toffees have suffered a change in fortunes over the last two campaigns, as they now battle relegation having lost the striker for the majority of the season.

Of course, they may have no choice but to sell if they do go down, and in that case the Blues should be squeezing every last penny that they can out of his sale.

However, Frank Lampard’s team will be hoping that it does not have to come down to that, and that he will be playing for them again next term.

In other news, find out who Lampard is now contemplating selling here!
